When it’s time to get a new vehicle, some buyers may face a big decision right off the bat: Do I want to be reasonable, or do I want to go big? That’s certainly applicable in the EV market, and we have two vehicles that provide those very options: the 2024 Audi Q4 e-tron and the 2024 Jaguar I-Pace.
The Q4 e-tron offers a spacious cabin, a solid powertrain, and plenty of technology. Meanwhile the I-Pace offers more — more room, more power, and more technology. Of course, it also costs more money.
Let’s check out these two 2-row electric SUVs.
2024 Audi Q4 e-tron
Audi designed the Q4 e-tron with a focus on comfort, practicality, and technology. Fortunately, the design team also remembered to make it visually appealing. The compact electric SUV sports an athletic, upscale exterior.
Once inside the cabin, you’ll find an impressive array of technology, most of it routed through an 11.5-inch touchscreen. The driver also benefits from an available augmented-reality head-up display that provides directional cues from the navigation system in addition to the usual information.
The Q4 55 e-tron features a dual-motor layout with Audi’s quattro all-wheel-drive (AWD) system and a potent 335 horsepower. Prices start at $56,395, including destination charges.
Audi Q4 e-tron Highlights
Superior Sound: Sonos built a reputation for making excellent home audio setups and Bluetooth speakers. Now the company is supplying Audi with crisp and well-defined systems.
Quick charge: Using DC Fast Charging, the Audi Q4 e-tron can charge from 10% to 80% of its capacity in as little as 28 minutes. This helps ease range anxiety.
Steering wheel design: The Q4 e-tron steering wheel is flattened at the top and bottom, making it easier for drivers to slide their legs under. It looks cool and futuristic — like an Audi EV should.

2024 Jaguar I-Pace
The Jaguar I-Pace received just a few updates for 2024, including the “grille” changing from black to Atlas Grey. Fortunately, the SUV’s exterior styling is aggressive yet clean, making it very attractive.
The 2024 I-Pace comes in just one trim level, the R-Dynamic HSE, which makes selecting options relatively straightforward. While on the topic of limited options, the I-Pace comes with just one powertrain, but it’s impressive: the dual motor setup develops 394 hp and 512 lb-ft of torque while making AWD standard. The result is a 0 to 60 mph time of just 4.5 seconds.
The cabin features a slew of high-quality materials and technology, including a 12.3-inch digital driver information display and a 10-inch infotainment touchscreen. The available space is good but not class-leading. Prices start at $73,775, including destination charges.
Jaguar I-Pace Highlights
Audio bliss: An 825-watt/17-speaker sound system from Meridian is standard in the 2024 I-Pace. It’s on par with the Sonos system in the Audi Q4 e-tron.
ClearSight: Part of the optional Driver Intelligence Pack, this replaces the conventional rearview mirror with a display. A camera provides a clear image of what’s behind the vehicle without rear pillars, cargo, or passengers’ heads getting in the way.
Great seats: The I-Pace offers great handling. Jaguar engineers astutely developed performance-oriented front seats to ensure the driver is held firmly in place while putting the SUV through its paces.

Similarities
These are two all-electric SUVs with sporty exteriors, seating for five, and a wide range of safety and convenience technology.
Conclusion
This comparison illustrates the difference between “premium” and “luxury” — starting with the window sticker. The Audi Q4 e-tron is more than $17,000 less expensive than the Jaguar I-Pace. The I-Pace offers a substantially more powerful drivetrain, standard AWD, and more. It’s a question of determining if the differences are worth it for your wallet.
