Let’s Take a Look Inside the 2024 Lincoln Nautilus

The 2024 Lincoln Nautilus is officially in its third generation after a complete makeover, making this 5-seat midsize SUV more appealing in a highly competitive segment. Direct rivals to the Nautilus include the Acura MDX, Lexus RX, Cadillac XT6, and Genesis GV80.

Working to the benefit of the redone Nautilus is that its starting price of $52,010, including destination charges, is significantly lower than many competing luxury SUVs. This is especially true compared to German-built models like the BMW X5, Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class, and Audi Q5.

The Nautilus was, and still is, engineered to be quiet, composed, and extremely comfortable. If you’re looking for a sport-utility that thinks it’s a racecar in disguise, you’re better off looking elsewhere.

Let’s take a look inside the 2024 Lincoln Nautilus.

Passenger Room and Comfort

The first thing many people will notice about the 2024 Nautilus is how accommodating it is to anyone seated in the second row. With 43.1 inches of rear legroom, there’s more than enough stretch-out space for tall adults, rambunctious seat-kicking kids, or especially long-limbed pets.

Synthetic leather seating surfaces are standard, though real leather is available. There are three primary trims: Premiere, Reserve, and Black Label. The Black Label version of the Nautilus comes with about every bell and whistle you can add to this Lincoln SUV — as well it should, considering it has an asking price of nearly $76,000.

Lincoln equips the base Nautilus with a number of features that are extra-cost options on rival SUVs. These include heated and ventilated front seats, a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, a heated steering wheel, ambient interior lighting, and remote keyless entry.

Features and Tech

One of the biggest showstoppers in the 2024 Nautilus is undoubtedly the wraparound design of the instrument panel. For those old enough to remember the daring cabin of the 1990s-era Lincoln MK VIII coupe — it’s okay to admit it — this will bring back misty and newly digitized memories.

Extending from each door panel, the full-width 48-inch dashboard display makes for a strong visual impact. Perched atop the center console is an 11.1-inch screen that serves as the hub for the infotainment system. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, as are four USB ports, voice commands, Amazon Alexa, and a Wi-Fi hot spot.

Optional in the Premiere and Reserve trims is BlueCruise 1.2, a hands-free driving system that works on pre-mapped highways. It’s standard on the range-topping Black Label trim.

Materials and Design

There’s no denying Lincoln has gone out of its way to make the interior of the 2024 Nautilus a classier and far more luxurious environment than before. As we’ve already pointed out, the standard wraparound dashboard is visually arresting.

Yet options like a suede headliner, walnut trim, and massaging 24-way power-adjustable front seats conspire to turn the Nautilus into a veritable spa on four wheels. There is even an available onboard diffuser that fills the cabin with one of three scents: Violet Cashmere, Mystic Forest, or Ozonic Azure.

Music fans, take note. A potent 14-speaker Revel audio system is standard, though a surround-sound Revel unit with 28 speakers is optional.

Cargo Room and Flexibility

Behind the split-folding second row is 36.4 cubic feet of cargo space. While it’s true that many competing midsize SUVs offer a third row of seating, they’re often suitable only for kids and take a big chunk out of trunk volume when occupied.

The 2024 Nautilus errs on the side of luxury SUV shoppers who prioritize luggage space over added seating. With the second-row seats folded, cargo volume registers at more than 71 cubic feet in capacity.
